Summary
Unscroll does not collect, send, sell or share any personal data. The app has no internet access, no account, no ads and no analytics. Everything it measures stays on your device.
Unscroll shows a timer while you use apps you have chosen, and alerts you at intervals and when you pass a daily limit. This policy explains what information the app uses and what happens to it.
Information the app uses on your device
App usage information. With your permission (Usage access), Unscroll reads which app is currently open. It uses this only to tell whether one of the apps you chose to track is on screen, and to count how long it is open.
Installed apps. When you add an app to track, Unscroll lists the apps on your device that appear in your launcher, so you can pick one.
What is stored. Unscroll stores the list of apps you track, your interval and daily-limit settings, and the total time spent in each tracked app for each day. This is kept in the app's private storage on your device.
Permissions
- Usage access: to know which app is open.
- Display over other apps: to show the timer and alerts on screen.
- Notifications (optional): to tell you when you pass a daily limit.
- Run at startup: to resume timing after your phone restarts.
Sharing
None of this information leaves your device. Unscroll cannot send it anywhere, because the app does not have permission to use the internet.
Retention and deletion
Your data stays on your device until you remove it. Removing an app from your list stops it being tracked. Uninstalling Unscroll, or clearing its storage in Settings → Apps → Unscroll → Storage, deletes all of its data.
Children
Unscroll is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this address with a new effective date.
